| Card Text | "A durable and consistent performer, he has been Packers' starting center since start of the 1974 season. Rated as the best center prospect to join Packers in a decade by predecessor, Ken Bowman, he has excellent technique and makes the snap on punting plays extremely well. A scrappy player and a hard worker, he began his rookie campaign of 1973 on Packers' Taxi Squad but made his way onto club's regular roster in the tenth game of that season. Has been nicknamed "Rock" by teammates. College Corner: Attended Univ. of Illinois. Urbana, Illinois.
